My current goals for this blog are to
- post one new book/DVD once a day
- post one book review a week
- take some pictures of the library so you can see what I see every day.
Where the magic happens (AKA the U of M Library Catalog)
If you are not super familiar with how to find books at U of M or use our database system, mirlyn, you can look here
If you have any questions you don’t think I can answer, then you can chat with librarians via instant message here for help with research and anything else you may need
As I have said I want all people who are interested in reading and libraries to feel free to follow this blog. World Cat is a database that compiles everything available from libraries around the world. After you locate the book you want, the site asks for your zip code to find the closest library that has a copy of said book. It’s really cool and has DVDs and CDs as well, so I suggest everyone test it out.
And finally if you are a U of M student and want to suggest a book for the library to purchase, you can submit it over here
